Making some good progress using Heisig’s Kanji book – really quite enjoy that. I find some strange parallels with teaching my kids cursive writing and me learning the various strokes with kanji – strangely relaxing too.
Also using memrise.com daily for my quick refreshers and also to learn new words, characters and phrases. I really like this site, but can’t figure out why I would buy the premium version. I want too – but literally can’t see what the benefit is.
Also find that abroadinjapan podcast makes for a good listen on morning walks.
In terms of word count, I’m sitting at about 30 or so and 20 kanji. The hiragana is quite fun to learn, but the also slips out your mind quickly if you don’t keep up review work.
