Been a good few days of studying, using *all* the various tools and books I have. Almost too many options some days. To that end I decided to use the Genki books to have some structure – however be careful when buying this online. I mistakenly bought the workbook only, thinking I has amazingly stumbled onto a special offer 🙂

So get the ‘integrated course’ version of Genki, preferably the 2nd or 3rd edition.

Moving onto sentence structure, I’ve also found “Japanese Ammo with Misa” YouTube channel very useful when trying to understand verb usage.
