About me

As far back as I can remember I have been quite fascinated with Japanese culture. No specific rhyme or reason. I am not particularly into anime in any great way, nor am am I a black belt in a martial art. Both of which seem to be the key reasons most people becoming curious about Japan initially. This latent interest however has always been there, and I finally got the opportunity to travel to Japan in 2019. Mostly to meet friends and watch the World Cup Rugby (where South Africa won!), but also to experience the Japanese people and culture first hand.
This amazing experience gave me the motivation I needed to jump into the world of learning Japanese. I decided to start the blog mostly to capture my own notes and thinking as I progressed in the language – and I hope you find the posts helpful and interesting.
